Pro-music is a coalition of people and organisations working across the music sector. The international alliances of musicians, performers, managers, artists, major and independent record companies and retailers across the music industry have joined forces to promote the myriad of different ways in which people can enjoy music safely and legitimately online.

FIM

The International Federation of Musicians (FIM) (http://www.fim-musicians.com), founded in 1948 is the only international organisation for musicians working in all genres of music. The Federation’s main objective is to protect and further the economic, social and artistic interests of musicians by:

  • Promoting national and international protective legislation in the interests of musicians,
  • Obtaining and compiling statistical and other information regarding the music profession,
  • Holding international congresses and conferences,
  • Collaborating with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Labour Office (ILO) and UNESCO, The Council of Europe, the European Commission, and the European Parliament on issues of importance to performers.

FIM works closely with collecting societies administering performers’ rights and has been fully involved in protecting musicians’ interests in all the developments arising from digital technology including the internet and associated communications technologies.
